If your position as an anarchist is that people can only be ruled through consent, then there exist no means whereby those who don't consent to governance can be subjected to even the most valid and necessary of laws. A murderous thug is unlikely to consent to laws that would put him in jail. A thief is unlikely to consent to laws that would make his job of theft more difficult.
One could argue that it is the right of those being victimized to demand justice in these instances, but in that case would it not then be as much the right of Christian fundamentalists to claim that it is their right not to be subjected to the public displays of Islam? Would the Islamic folks then claim that they possessed some right to not hear the prayers of Christians?
If victims must consent to punish criminals, will they not consent for those who have committed even the most minor infractions to suffer the most heinous punishments?
If criminals must consent to be punished, will they not refuse to consent to such punishments, regardless of how deserved they may be?

| Brainwashed Two: What Is Anarchy - 243 sec
My take on Anarchy, as limited as that is. It serves as a once-over. Had this one rolling around for a long time, and I'm glad to FINALLY get it out there under the "Brainwashed" series.
One note about this: I really neglected to properly give the impression of how huge this movement is. It's monumental. It makes the rebellion of the 60s look quaint. A media blackout has the non-participants fooled into thinking there's nothing for them to do. THAT's why this appears in the "Brainwashed" series.
And it does it without a leader, OR needing everybody to be "on the same page".
Think about that.

In October 1976 the Sex Pistols signed their record deal with EMI and recorded their single 'Anarchy In The UK'. A tour was hurriedly put together by the Sex Pistols management to promote the single; showcase their band and punk rock in general. The December 'Anarchy Tour' was confirmed with the Damned and the Clash as support, with Johnny Thunders' Heartbreakers flying in as special guests from New York. It was the first time that fans outside of London could really get close to what was happening. Then, after the infamous two-minute "foul-mouthed" December 1 television appearance opposite Bill Grundy on the Today programme, punk became front page news and within days, 16 out of 19 halls cancelled. The Damned only lasted the first gig.
The story goes that the tour was prevented from becoming the trailblazing nationwide package it could've been. The tabloid storm that followed the 'Grundy' incident meant punk was defined and commodified by the media. Most commercial radio stations refused to play the Sex Pistols, and only John Peel played 'Anarchy In The UK' at the BBC. EMI backing out financially halfway through also put a huge financial strain on all the bands.
By mid-December there were very few venues in the country that would consider having the bands. Every concert that was played seemed a minor miracle.
In the end they played just 7 dates at 5 venues.

What we have seen in Albania is neither civil nor ethnical, religious or regional war. In simplified terms it could be described as a desperate revolt of a "protesting party" against economic deception and political autocracy. Terms "democratic revolution" on the one side and "communist revolt" on the other, do not seem adequate. National revolt in Albania, at the time the authorities refused to listen or see, while the opposition was incapable of leading a process which later slipped out of control, was leading to anarchy. The "Albanian anarchy" - might be to most precise term for what happened in this country.
