My entry for the Multimedia Contest at the 2008 VJCL State Latin Convention on Nov. 23-24. This video was written, directed, filmed, and edited by me.
This video is quite literally my blood, sweat, and tears because I spent many nights of staying up till about 2 am working on this. So, yeah, right now this is my baby.
Wish me luck!
**Note: There are a few scenes in here which came with my editing program (i.e. the moon, the lightning, and the various flames), so those are the only bits I did not film personally. Also (because some people asked) some of the style in editing was influenced by other movies namely Gladiator, 300, etc. I just loved how they use various techniques to capture raw emotions.
Update 11/5: Okay, so I got a number of quesitons about the shots in the opening sequence where "Aeneas" is having a nightmare. Yes, I did shoot that sequence, and let me just say that it took forever because I had to repeatedly show the actor exactly which muscles to "spasm." Okay, so, anyways, the real reason for the update on that sequence is that someone noticed its similarity to the scene in HP 5. Yes, it is VERY similar because I designed it that way. I studied the footage and realized that that was exactly what I wanted so i did my best to recreate that setting and the shots. I'm going to tell you that I had to do alot of cropping on the footage in order to get such close angles on it. But, it was worth every moment of frustration.
