2007 MBC Drama Award - Announcing Excellent Actor - 537 sec
30-Dec-2007 MBC Drama Award This cut is announcing the Excellent Actor Award which was won by Gong Yoo and Lee Jun Ki. Gong Yoo's acceptance speech. MC: Nam Sang Mi is giving him a flower bouquet. Yoon Eun Hye looks like she doesn't know what to do because Nam Sang Mi went to go give flowers! GY: It's okay, it's okay! You don't have to come! MC: She's coming up! MC: She's here with flowers. Congratulations! Why don't we hear a speech from you, Gong Yoo ssi? GY: I was dressing up, and I wore this khaki-coloured suit. It's a colour I'm going to be wearing a lot now. After I debuted... I don't know if this is arrogant or not... but I've never thought of wanting to win an award. But now that I've won, and I'm on stage... it feels good. I want to thank my lovely mom who still loves when I come out on TV and is watching me right now, and my father, who was the one to receive the most autographs from Coffee Prince. And I want to share this honor with the Coffee Prince family, and I love the Yoo & I fan club who are freezing outside. Also, to everybody that I love... be happy and healthy. Thank you! after Lee JunKi's speech... MC: Wait, wait! Gong Yoo ssi, just like you said, you are going to be wearing khaki a lot from now on. A lot of fans are sad because you have to leave for the military. To be exact, when will you be leaving? Is today your last TV appearance? GY: Yes, formally, today would be the last. MC: Oh, I see. Then what exact day...? GY: Oh, when I'm leaving? On January 14th, I'll start my training. (i'm not 100% that's what he says) MC: Oh no!! GY: I'll return safely! MC: Gong Yoo ssi! A lot of fans must be sad right now. Can you give some words to your loving fans as well as Yoon Eun Hye and the Coffee Prince team? GY: Yes. Our director really wanted Eun Hye and I to win the Best Couple award, so it's a bit disappointing. And I don't know where she is right now, but I didn't get to say thank you... so thank you to our director. Um, I've never won an award before, so I'm kind of shaking from nervousness. Anyway, I'll be going to the military and coming back very healthy. Please don't forget me, and please remember me. Be healthy and happy! MONDAY NIGHT CONVERSATION WITH SAMUEL L. JACKSON. http://www.blacktree.tv BlackTreeTV, now available on the iPhone, iTV, iTunes, YouTube, and BlackTree.tv RESURRECTING THE CHAMP Yari Film Group Presents A Phoenix Pictures, Battleplans Prods. Production A Rod Lurie Film Producers: Bob Yari, Marc Frydman, Rod Lurie Executive producers: Mike Medavoy, Arnold W. Messer, Bradlely J. Fischer, Louis Phillips, Frederick Zollo Director: Rod Lurie Screenwriters: Allison Burnett, Michael Bortman Based on an LA Times Magazine article by J.R. Moehringer Cast: Samuel L. Jackson (Champ), Josh Hartnett (Erik), Teri Hatcher (Flak), Kathryn Morris (Joyce), Rachel Nichols (Polly), Alan Alda (Metz), David Paymer (Whitley), Dakota Goya (Teddy), Peter Coyote (Epstein), Ryan McDonald (Kenny), Harry J. Lennix (Satterfield Jr.) Living on the streets of Denver, pushing a shopping cart piled high with all his worldly possessions, the man everyone calls "The Champ" (Samuel L. Jackson) knows he was not the greatest boxer to ever step in the ring, but at least he had a shot at it. After years of succumbing to fighters who ultimately found his glass jaw more often than he landed a winning punch, the Champ went from up-and-coming to mere has-been, with no heavyweight championship under his belt. Now he fights no one but cops and street thugs. Living in the shadow of his former self, this champ is down and halfway out. Denver Times sports reporter Erik Kernan (Josh Hartnett) knows the feeling. He's been living in the shadow of his famous father Erik the "Wow Man" Kernan ever since he too decided to be a journalist. Listening to tapes of his old man's lively radio broadcasts -- Erik is aware that he has some big journalistic shoes to fill. Assigned to cover all the bush-league sporting events, he wants a shot and the big time, but his hard-driving editor Metz (Alan Alda) is quick to tell Erik he's just not cutting it. "I forget your pieces while I'm reading them," Metz complains. "A lotta typing -- not much writing." Rapidly losing ground at work and at home -- his wife Joyce (Kathryn Morris) has asked for a separation -- Erik is afraid of becoming an absent father to his son Teddy (Dakota Goyo) just like his father was to him. He needs to make changes, to put heart back into his life and into his work . . . but how? One night after leaving the paper, as Erik sees a gang of thugs beating up a homeless man. He notices how well the grizzly old fellow can take a punch. He bobs, he weaves, he lands a few good ones himself until Erik chases the thugs away, leaving jeers of how they beat "The Champ" in their wake. Erik realizes he has just rescued the legendary "Battling Bob Satterfield" and stumbled on the story of a lifetime. But rumor had it Satterfield was dead . . . and yet here he was. An article about the rise, fall and resurrection of a former heavyweight contender could get Erik's career off the ropes and breathe life into his confidence. A story like this could be the title shot he has been waiting for a chance to change his life forever. CRACKED ACTOR - A Film about David Bowie (PART 1) - 600 sec
In 1974, David Bowie embarked on an extensive tour of America. Performing over 70 concerts and taking 6 months, Bowie and his band stepped on stage each evening to deliver a highly tuned and finely timed performance that was the Diamond Dogs show. It included some of the most spectacular and expensive stage effects and scenery ever seen, even by today's standards. In September of the same year, a BBC television film crew was invited to follow David Bowie mid-tour in and around Los Angeles during his week-long stay there, as part of the DIAMOND DOGS/PHILLY DOGS tour. This highly acclaimed 55-minute documentary film, entitled 'Cracked Actor' was first broadcast on 26th January 1975 as part of BBC-TV's Omnibus series. It features interviews with Bowie, together with rare live concert footage of the Diamond Dogs show (which includes the breathtaking theatrical stage scenery and special effects!) filmed on 5th September at the UNIVERSAL AMPHITHEATRE, HOLLYWOOD. Also included are live clips from D.A. Pennebaker's 1973 film of Ziggy Stardust's "Farewell" show at the Hammersmith Odeon, interviews with David's fans and followers, and excerpts from a session at Philadelphia's SIGMA SOUND STUDIOS during rehearsals for Young Americans. All of this, interspersed with album tracks and images, make this probably the most in-depth, talked about and sought-after Bowie documentary ever made! Live '74 tracks include: REBEL REBEL CRACKED ACTOR SWEET THING MOONAGE DAYDREAM ALADDIN SANE TIME SPACE ODDITY ROCK 'N' ROLL SUICIDE DIAMOND DOGS JOHN, I'M ONLY DANCING (AGAIN) For more '74 Bowie videos, click on my channel link.
