Dassault Aviation - 370 sec
Dassault Aviation is a French aircraft manufacturer of military, regional and business jets. It was founded by Marcel Bloch as Société des Avions Marcel Bloch or "MB". After World War II, Marcel Bloch changed his name to Marcel Dassault, and the name of the company was changed to Avions Marcel Dassault on 20 December 1947. In 1971, Dassault acquired Breguet, forming Avions Marcel Dassault-Breguet Aviation (AMD-BA). In 1990, the company was renamed Dassault Aviation.Société des Avions Marcel Bloch was founded by Marcel Bloch in 1928. In 1935 Bloch and Henry Potez entered into an agreement to buy Societe Aerienne Bordelaise (SAB), subsequently renamed Societe Aeronautique du Sud-Ouest. In 1936 the arms industry in France was nationalised as the Société Nationale de Constructions Aéronautiques du Sud-Ouest (SNCASO). Marcel Bloch was asked to act as delegated administrator of the Minister for Air. During the occupation of France the country's aviation industry was virtually disbanded.Marcel Bloch was imprisoned by the Vichy government in October 1940. In 1944 Bloch was deported to the Buchenwald concentration camp by the German occupiers where he remained until it was liberated on 11 April 1945. On 10 November 1945 at an extraordinary general meeting of the Société Anonyme des Avions Marcel Bloch the company voted to change its form to a limited liability entity, Société des Avions Marcel Bloch, which was to be a holding company. On 20 January 1947 Société des Avions Marcel Bloch became Société des Avions Marcel Dassault to reflect the name adopted by its owner. In 1954 Dassault established an electronics division (by 1962 named Electronique Marcel Dassault), the first action of which was to begin development of airborne radars, soon followed by seeker heads for air-to-air missiles, navigation and bombing aids. From the 1950s to late 1970s exports become a major part of Dassault's business, major successes were the Dassault Mirage series and the Mystere-Falcon. The average rate in the period 1952-1977 was 58%. In the years 1965 and 1966 the French government stressed to its various defence suppliers the need to specialize to maintain viable companies. Dassault was to specialise in combat and business aircraft, Nord Aviation in ballistic missiles and Sud Aviation civil and military transport aircraft and helicopters.(Nord Aviations and Sud Aviation would merge in 1970 to form Aérospatiale) . On 27 June 1967 Dassault (at the urging of the French government) acquired 66% of Breguet Aviation. Under the merger deal Société des Avions Marcel Dassault was dissolved on 14 December 1971, with its assets vested in Breguet, to be renamed Avions Marcel Dassault-Bregeut Aviation (AMD-BA). Dassault Systèmes was established in 1981 to develop and market Dassault's CAD program, CATIA. Dassault Systèmes was to become a market leader in this field. In 1979 the French Government took a 20% share in Dassault and established the Societé de Gestion de Participations Aéronautiques (SOGEPA) to manage this and an indirect 25% share in Aerospatiale (the government also held a direct 75% share in that company). In 1998 the French Government transferred its shares in Dassault Aviation (45.76%) to Aerospatiale. On 10 July 2000, Aérospatiale-Matra merged with other European companies to form EADS. In 2000 Serge Dassault resigned as Chairman and was succeeded by Charles Edlestenne. Serge Dassault was appointed Honorary Chairman.

Aviation - The Best and Worst - 543 sec
I haven't made a 'music video' for a while, and I have lots of plane shorts so I knocked this up from most of the footage and put on Guns n' Roses 'November Rain' as the soundtrack. I have also written up an extensive video info section, so read it before you make any 'when did this happen' type comments. AIRCRAFT IN ORDER OF APPEARANCE ________________________________ Boeing 747 - This Video is very widely distributed, a 747 taking off just before the end of the runway, and passing less than 100 feet over plane spotters. Another B747 - Performing a crosswind landing Another B747 - Landing at St Maarteen Airport. The Airport has one 2345 meter long runway, 09/27, and the 747 is landing on runway 09, in which the threshold is only 80 meters away from a beach, the end of the runway only 2 meters away. If you want to see more amazing videos of this, look up the airport on YouTube. Messerschmitt Me 262 "Schwalbe" - the world's first turbojet fighter aircraft, which first flew in 1941 with piston engines, and 5 years later with jet engines. The only two countries that used this plane were Germany and Czechoslovakia respectively, the Czechs retired these planes in 1957. Boeing 777 - Performing a Crosswind Landing Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning - Joint Strike Fighter, VTOL (Vertical Take Off and Landing) Australia wishes to purchase around 100 JSF's to replace the aging F18 Hornets and F111's. Extra 300 - flown by Peter Besenyei, a world renown Hungarian Aerobatics Pilot, in Japan 2006. He also participates frequently in the Red Bull Air Race. Sukhoi Su-31 - The Pilot is Svetlana Kapanina, a world champion aerobatics pilot. F/A 18 Hornet - Carrier launch, catapault. RA-5C A5 Vigilante - A High Performance, Supersonic Jet Bomber made for the US Navy. Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress - Takeoff from Seat overlooking engines 1 and 2, on the port wing. Filmed during Takeoff on a shitty day. Unsure of the next aircraft, but apparently the pilot is Peter Besenyei. Beyond stupidity, but Bloody Amazing! Aero Commander Shrike - In the cockpit with Bob Hoover at the controls. In a barrel roll, there are no forces acting on the plane (If performed correctly), of both acceleration or gravitational load forces. That is why the iced tea was able to be poured, even though the plane was upside down. An Amazing pilot and video! F-14 Tomcat - Performing a high speed, low altitude pass of a carrier. The speed was probably around 550 - 600 knots, or 990 to 1080 km/h, subsonic (that was not a sonic boom) but still producing a very loud (120dB+) sound. Look at the water! Grumman S-2 Tracker - it barely has enough speed to rotate, let alone cope with all the drag obtained from flying into the wave, but it still manages to climb out. F-14 Tomcat - Another Tomcat performing a high speed, low altitude pass of a carrier. The speed was probably closer to 650 knots, or 1170 km/h, barely subsonic (that was not a sonic boom), probably even transonic, if you notice the large cloud forming, called the Prandtl-Glauert singularity. Boeing 707 - Filmed during its flight tests. The pilot, Tex Johnson, performed during this flight a barrel roll, much to the dismay of his employers. However, the military were viewing the flight, and they were so impressed at the manoeuvring capabilities of the passenger jet, and signed a contract with Boeing to produce military aircraft. Tex was not fired for his stunt, just asked not to do it again. McDonnell Douglas RAF GR7 Harrier - The Harrier in High speed flight, very widely distributed video of it passing just meters over the heads of the military personnel on the ground. C-130 Hercules - The famous 'Angel' Flares. F-22 Raptor - A tail view of the newest, most high tech plane in the world. The Raptor has performed brilliantly in its tests, apart from some minor flaws. Extra 300 - Not much I can say about this one.

You Were My Everything by Aviation - 299 sec
Clip From Butterfly Effect 2 Song by Aviation - You Were My Everything What do you think of it? it's my first vid go check out my other vids too. lyrics: This goes out to someone that was Once the most important person in my life I didn't realize it at the time I can't forgive myself for the way I treated you so I don't really expect you to either It's just... I don't even know Just listen... You're the one that I want, the one that I need The one that I gotta have just to succeed When I first saw you, I knew it was real I'm sorry about the pain I made you feel That wasn't me; let me show you the way I looked for the sun, but it's raining today I remember when I first looked into your eyes It was like God was there, heaven in the skies I wore a disguise 'cause I didn't want to get hurt But I didn't know I made everything worse You told me we were crazy in love But you didn't care when push came to shove If you loved me as much as you said you did Then you wouldn't have hurt me like I ain't shit Now you pushed me away like you never even knew me I loved you with my heart, really and truly I guess you forgot about the times that we shared When I would run my fingers through your hair Late nights, just holding you in my arms I don't know how I could do you so wrong I really wanna show you I really need to hold you I really wanna know you like no one else could know you You're number one, always in my heart And now I can't believe that our love is torn apart [Chorus:] I need you and I miss you and I want you and I love you 'cause I wanna hold you, I wanna kiss you You were my everything And I really miss you [2x] I knew you gonna sit and play this with your new man And then sit and laugh as you're holding his hand The thought of that just shatters my heart It breaks in my soul and it tears me apart At times we was off I was scared to show you Now I wanna hold you until I can't hold you Without you, everything seems strange Your name is forever planted in my brain Damn it, I'm insane, Take away the pain Take away the hurt Baby, we can make it work What about when you Looked into my eyes Told me you loved me As you would hugged me I guess everything you said was a lie I think about it, it brings tears to my eyes Now I'm not even a thought in your mind I can see clearly, my love is not blind [Chorus:] I need you and I miss you and I want you and I love you 'cause I wanna hold you, I wanna kiss you You were my everything And I really miss you [2x] [Talking:] I just wish everything could have turned out differently I had a special feeling about you I thought maybe you did too You would understand, but... No matter what, you'll always be in my heart You'll always be my baby Our first day, it seemed so magical I remember all the time that I had with you Remember when you first came to my house? You looked like an angel wearing that blouse We hit it off, I knew it was real But now I can't take all the pain that I feel Reach in your heart, I know I'm still there I don't wanna hear that you no longer care Remember the times? Remember when we kissed? I didn't think you would ever do me like this I didn't think you'd wanna see me depressed I thought you'd be there for me, this I confess You said you were my best friend, was that a lie? Now I'm nothing to you, you're with another guy I tried, I tried, I tried, and I'm trying Now on the inside it feels like I'm dying [Chorus:] I need you and I miss you and I want you and I love you 'cause I wanna hold you, I wanna kiss you You were my everything And I really miss you [2x] [Talking:] And I do miss you I just thought we were meant to be I guess now, we'll never know The only thing I want is for you to be happy Whether it be with me, or without me I just want you to be happy

A-4 Skyhawk - Aviation Images - 245 sec
A collection of personal photographs shot while flying the A-4F and TA-4J Skyhawk at former NAS Miramar and more in this cinéma vérité montage of the Navy's adversary squadron: VFC-13. Thank God for great maintainers - single engine jet in a fighter roll -- and zero mishaps. Douglas built 2,960 Skyhawks between 1954 and 1979. Built small to be cost effective and so that more could be accommodated on a carrier, the lightweight, high-speed bombers were affectionately nicknamed "Heinemann's Hot Rod" (after Douglas designer Ed Heinemann), the Bantam Bomber, Mighty Mite and Scooter. Skyhawks provided the U.S. Navy and Marines and friendly nations with maneuverable, yet powerful, attack bombers that had great altitude and range capabilities, plus an unusual flexibility in armament capacity. The Skyhawk A4D was roughly half the empty weight of its contemporaries and could fly at 677 mph at sea level. After 1956, it had provisions for in-flight refueling, and it carried anti-radar missiles on its wing racks. After 1966, it included a hump-like avionics pod. Upgraded models had improved engines and a drogue parachute, new avionics displays, larger cockpit canopies, and more ammunition for the two cannons. Two-seat trainer versions included the TA-4F, TA-4J and the TA-4K Series. The Blue Angels chose the A-4 in the early '70s, replacing the thundering F-4. By adopting the Skyhawk, the team now had an aircraft that was much more aerobatic than before. This allowed for a tighter display and the ability to keep much of the performance in front of the audience. The A-4 Skyhawk was manufactured by Douglas Aircraft Corporation and was designed by Ed Heinemann. Its primary users are United States Navy and United States Marine Corps. Its maiden flight happened on the 22nd of June 1954 but it was introduced in 1956. The A-4 Skyhawk is a lightweight, single engine attack aircraft. It is said to be one of the most famous attack aircrafts ever designed. The short range attack and close support aircraft was originally intended for the U.S. Navy and Marine forces. The A-4F variant was a refinement of A-4E. It has extra avionics housed in a hump on the fuselage spine. Some of this variant served with Blue Angels acrobatic team during 1973 to 1986. The Blue Angels are the best U.S. military aerobatic team who flew the A-4 until 1987 when it was replaced by the F/A-18 Hornet. They flew different kind of aircraft over the years including Grumman Hellcats, Bearcat, Panther, and the Skyhawk. The A-4 Skyhawk was chosen in the early 70s over F-4 as Skyhawk is said to be more fuel efficient than the Phantom. It was chosen because it was the aircraft that was more appropriate that time in the midst of an oil crisis. With the A-4 used by the team, different display was done. The Skyhawk was more aerobatic than the other aircraft. This allowed them to have a tighter display and be able to keep their performance in front of the audience. The pilots of the Blue Angels enjoyed flying the A-4 Skyhawk because it is easy to maintain and the accident rate was quite low. Eventually, there were new aircrafts that replaced the Skyhawk. It retired in 1976 for the U.S. Navy while in 1998 in U.S. Marine Corps. However it is still active in other countries. Its combat career began with the first American carrier-launched raids on North Vietnam, Aug. 4, 1964. Later, during Israel's Yom Kippur war in 1973, Skyhawks provided much of the short-range striking power on the Sinai and Golan Heights fronts. The Navy's Blue Angels flight demonstration squadron flew the A-4F Skyhawk II from 1974 to 1986. Skyhawks were also used by the armed forces of Argentina, Australia, Israel, Kuwait, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and New Zealand, and they remained active with several air services into the 2000s. the Lucksmiths - The Golden Age Of Aviation (Pop Dakar 2006) - 207 sec
One of my favourite songs ever, live from Pop Dakar, Stockholm 2 sept 2006 (sorry for missing the beginning). (For argument's sake let's pretend we could stop arguing Over which of us is wrong) and why it isn't you We're barely awake before your head's up in the clouds again There's nothing you like more than having nothing much to do Stood akimbo Staring out the window at the sky All afternoon you've been buried in a biography Of an aviatrix lost at sea, never to be found Holed up in your room, holding out for an apology But gravity will get to you eventually You'll come down from upstairs again With all those model aeroplanes And the novelty wore off When the pilots still wore goggles But your eyes look skywards And your mind still boggles I'm going grey but you look younger than a year ago When you put your hair in pigtails and you put your hand in mine We'll be OK - I'm happy when you're here But oh, your smile can seem as far away as once upon a time You can't help it Hopelessly nostalgic A passing interest in the past But I think it's going to last a little longer I'll hold on to your hand as tightly as I can But modelling glue is stronger The novelty wore off When the pilots still wore goggles But your eyes look skywards And your mind still boggles Through frequent flyers' disappointments and disasters The golden age of aviation never lost its lustre
