When Bama was flattened 0-35 by Florida in week 2 of 1991, many critics laughed at their much heralded defense. But the Tide rebounded the week after, shutting out Georgia 10-0. The Crimson Tide would win 8 more to finish 10-1. Defending national champion Colorado (8-2-1) provided Bama with a stern test. But freshman David Palmer lit up the night, scoring on a punt return and a spectacular TD catch. The Deuce was loose and Alabama won 30-25. Gene Stallings was 18-6 in his first 2 seasons.

The Leningrad Cowboys is a Finnish rock and roll band famous for its humorous songs and concerts featuring the Soviet Red Army Choir.
Currently, the band has eleven Cowboys and two Leningrad Ladies. The songs, all somewhat influenced by polka and progressive rock, and performed in English, have themes such as 'vodka', 'tractors', 'rockets', and 'Genghis Khan', as well as folkloric Russian songs, rock and roll ballads and covers from bands as diverse as The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and Lynyrd Skynyrd, all with lots of humour.

The Red Army Choir (Choir Aleksandrov) is a performing ensemble that served as the official army choir of the former Soviet Union's Red Army. The choir consists of a male choir, an orchestra, and a dance ensemble. The songs they perform range from Russian folk tunes to Church hymns, operatic arias and popular music.
In 1991, The Red Army Choir participated in Roger Waters' The Wall concert celebrating the fall of the Berlin Wall. They performed an anti-war song "Bring the Boys Back Home".
Since the collapse of the Soviet Union, the Red Army Choir has continued performing, entertaining audiences both inside and outside Russia.

A PRELIMINARY STORM SURVEY OF THE DAMAGE INCURRED ACROSS NORTHEAST
COLBERT...EASTERN LAUDERDALE...AND EXTREME NORTHWEST LAWRENCE
COUNTIES /ALABAMA/ HAS BEEN COMPLETED BY NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE
AND COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PERSONNEL. THE EVENT OCCURRED
THURSDAY...MAY 8 2008. INITIAL FINDINGS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
* EVENT: TORNADO
* LOCATION: LEIGHTON TO ROGERSVILLE, ALABAMA
* ESTIMATED PEAK WIND: 125.0 MPH
* PRELIMINARY RATING: EF-2
* PATH LENGTH: 9.6 MILES
* MAXIMUM PATH WIDTH: 250 YARDS
* SUMMARY: SURVEILLANCE CAMERA FROM AN EQUIPMENT COMPANY NORTHEAST
OF LEIGHTON CAPTURED A TORNADO PICKING UP AT LEAST 2 CARS AND
THROWING THEM NEARLY 40 FEET. LARGE TREES WERE SNAPPED AND
UPROOTED NEAR FOSTERS MILL...ALONG COUNTY ROAD 40. JUST TO THE
NORTHEAST OF FOSTERS MILL...SIGNIFICANT STRUCTURAL DAMAGE
OCCURRED AT THE DOUBLEHEAD RESORT AND LODGE. A 2-STORY HOUSE WAS
COMPLETELY LIFTED OFF ITS FOUNDATION AND MOVED NEARLY 20 FEET.
THE ENTIRE WEST-FACING SIDE OF THIS HOUSE WAS RIPPED OFF ALONG
WITH SIGNIFICANT ROOF DAMAGE. ADDITIONAL SPORADIC DAMAGE
OCCURRED TO A GARAGE AND OTHER LARGE TREES FROM JOE WHEELER
STATE PARK TO ROGERSVILLE.
THESE FINDINGS ARE PRELIMINARY AND ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE.
