1943 Amsterdam population register (bevolkingsregister) attack.
In order to save further lives of Jews which where send to concentration camps, a group called 'Kunstenaarsverzet' (Artists in resistance) attacked the Amsterdam population register with explosives on the 27th of March 1943. Their intention was to destroy all data which was used to search and find Jews, which was possible because the register, apart from name and address, also contained details about the religion.
