Why would you switch from Windows to Ubuntu? WINE can emulate almost any Windows program, there is a large list of games and other free software for Ubuntu, and other Linux distros (Freespire, Linux XP, Mandrake, etc.)
If you're interested in Ubuntu, go to www.ubuntu.com, from there you can order a free CD, or download an ISO image to burn to a CD-R
