A vanity of higher origin
It has never been this easy

And vow forever change
There is a beautiful song
You sing along with me
Though I may forget at times
This song is mine to cherish

The low, ongoing echo fractal-loops and wraps itself
As millions of tired, cobwebbed eyes rise to mechanically greet one another on the freeway
In beginnings is darkness as in the end
And around the subtleties and inbetweens and grocery shoppings
I spin, perchance to weave
Values lost
Numerals & variables confused
Vows are broken
Nooses thicken
And names are forgotten
All thoughts, all thoughts, laid bare in my room
And the low, tormenting echoes remaining - are merely that
On a lifeless, useless piece of string

In a poem, life is upside down
In life, poems are insignificant
All that exists is the i-rewritable to-do list of reality
eerie writable
Small, petty things
Dishes to do
Alarms to set
Ideas to internalize
Buses to catch
Money to make
Challenges to meet
Poems to write
So selfish
So spoiled
So proud & angry & scared
But oh! in a poem-
There are no questions, no doubts, no interruptions or fights
No smug politicians or lonely wrongdoings
Only candles & wine, yummy noises, and tired, happy smiles
Deep, cozy slumbers
& blissful awakenings
Renewed beginnings
No ending in sight
But aside from the words & sounds of insignificance
Behind all the nothing
Still waits a simple vision of beauty, divine
Who tells me to just relax and be myself
Stop being so dramatic
It's bad for the skin
Line your face with laughter instead
It's good for the global warming of karma
