Miguel - Gordon Lightfoot - V79 - request for KevHes1 - 256 sec
Thank you KevHes1 for requesting Miguel. The others are coming. :) This one is truly a "team" effort with many of the images being provided to me by Tj. Thank you! Miguel (Summer Side of Life) 4:12 Never had much to say He traveled alone with no friends Like a shadowy ghost At dawn he came and he went Through the woodland swiftly gliding To the young maid he came riding Where she'd run to meet him By the garden wall Oh my sweet Miguel I will never tell No one will ever know What I know too well And he'd smile and lay his head on her breast And he'd say I have no fear They're waiting for me to cross the border, to swim the river 'Cause I've done that before To see my true love's smiling face A hundred times or more Oh my sweet Miguel she cried I'll love you 'til I die He was born to the south In Mexico they say The child of a man Who was soon gone away But his mother loved him dearly And she would take him yearly To the great cathedral in St. Augustine Oh my young Miguel Listen to the bell Of my poverty You must never tell And he cried himself to sleep in the night And he vowed to make things right So he took the gun down from the wall and he paid a call He knew she'd understand A lawman came to capture him The gun jumped in his hand Oh Miguel the mother cried You must run son or you'll die So the story is told Of his true love 'cross the line As strong as the oak And as sweet as the vine And the child she bore him Came on the fateful morning When they sent him to his final rest Oh my sweet Miguel Listen to the bell No one will ever know What I know too well Then she'd smile and lay the child on her breast And she'd say I have no fear I'm waiting for you to cross the border, to swim the river 'Cause you've done that before To see your true love's smiling face A hundred times or more Oh my sweet Miguel she cried I'll love you 'til I die Link For online discussions about Gordon Lightfoot, his music and related topics http://www.corfid.com/ Link to Gordon Lightfoot website maintained by Wayne Francis http://www.lightfoot.ca/ Link to buy Gordon Lightfoot CD's http://www.bestprices.com/cgi-bin/vli...

Spanish Moss - Gordon Lightfoot - V78 - Request for Nance - 229 sec
About a month ago I mentioned to Lynn how much I liked Gordon's Spanish Moss - Lynn answered, you are entitled to a request or two you know , and so it is requested again it seems, once earlier by Nance - but was misplaced - my apologies to Nance. The scenario that came to mind is that Gordon met a southern Belle while performing in Savannah Georgia. Their relationship might have been for lifetime, had things gone differently ... and, she had a daughter that Gordon called " Spanish Moss"....just a thought that works for me. Hope you enjoy it. The Last Time I Saw Her - Gordon Lightfoot V77 - request - 318 sec

Whispers of the North - Gordon Lightfoot - V73 - Jesse Joe - 202 sec
In 1972 I had the fortune to live and work at Pond Inlet on the north side of Baffin Island from March until August. Whispers of the North brought this part of the arctic to mind. Most of the photos taken there were lost to a house fire in 1990 - I think Gordon Lightfoot loves the Arctic and the Innuit who live there. I'll Be Alright - Gordon Lightfoot - V71 - 150 sec
This Gordon Lightfoot song has always immediately brought the sad face of a clown to mind with its lyric, "I'll be alright if I don't have to smile". Who better to fill that role than Emmett Kelly. I've added two other great clowns from my era -- Emmett Kelly Jr and Red Skelton as Freddie The Freeloader. Clowns are always popular with kids of all ages. Circle of Steel -Gordon Lightfoot -V69 for crowleysridgegirl - 169 sec
Circle of Steel, requested by crowleysridgegirl, is perhaps one of Gordon Lighfoot's most mysterious songs. Once when asked what the song meant - he replied - "it means what ever you want it to mean"...that is a whole lot to consider. After listening to the lyrics and trying to "see" their imagery ... here is what they mean to me...and...I am continually overwhelmed by Lightfoot's imagery - The "circle of steel" in Lightfoot's mind -might well be the prison - the walls and doors of the prison and the barbed wire (encircling steel) on top of the prison walls that keeps the father from the mother- and he child - from christmas - from home ... from experiencing New York ..in the Christmas season. Rainbow Trout - Gordon Lightfoot - V 68 for uintaj - 173 sec
Rainbow Trout, requested by uintaj, had been produced with the following metaphor in mind. Finding and "getting" a ladyfriend, is a little like fishing - in this case, fishing for Rainbow Trout. Summer Side Of Life - Gordon Lightfoot V66 for tomahawk1960 - 247 sec
"Despite a 1993 apology from the Government of Japan, in early March, 2007, then Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe made comments amounting to a denial of the fact that Korean, Chinese, Indonesian, Taiwanese and Filipino women were forced to serve as prostitutes during WWII. Many had been kidnapped, or tricked into leaving their homes, but all were forced to serve as "comfort women" in military brothels for the Imperial Army. Many did not survive. Private Members' Bills were passed in Canada and the United States calling for an apology from Prime Minister Abe. That apology came less than a month later. But, within every cloud is a silver lining, and these women, at a late stage of their lives, fought for what they wanted and won - a true testament to their spirit that needed some recognition." ~~ Lynn Link For online discussions about Gordon Lightfoot , his music and related topics http://www.corfid.com/ Link to Gordon Lightfoot website maintained by Wayne Francis http://www.lightfoot.ca/ Summer Side of Life (Summer Side of Life) 4:05 He came down through fields of green On the summer side of life His love was ripe There were no illusions On the summer side of life Only tenderness And if you saw him now You'd wonder why he would cry The whole day long There were young girls everywhere On the summer side of life The talked all night To the young men that they knew On the summer side of life Goin' off to fight And if you saw them now You'd wonder why they would cry The whole day long He came down through field of green On the summer side of life He prayed all night Then he walked into a house Where love had been misplaced His chance to waste And if you saw him now You'd wonder why he would cry The whole day long Note to All Viewers: This Tribute Channel is for the sole purpose of sharing the experience of the magnificent music of Gordon Lightfoot. Ringneck Loon - Gordon Lightfoot - V65 - for awesomejaytc - 263 sec
Ringneck Loon is a special Lightfoot song wherein, we believe, Gordon tips his hat to the call and the majesty of this "lonesome call" bird and compares his love for the city to the Loon's home in, on and near the water in the wilderness. Sundown - Gordon Lightfoot - V64 for tomahawk1960 - 213 sec
When we were thinking about a character to be "Sundown" for this classic Lightfoot Hit song, it was only minutes that passed and we settled on "Cher" who we think is a suited character - the kind who could .." hang around". Thank you tomahawk1960 for this request. This version includes several images of Cher impersonators that I believe adds a little spice and flavour to the production. tj StonewallStudios for The Lightfoot Tribute Team Link For online discussions about Gordon Lightfoot , his music and related topics http://www.corfid.com/ Link to Gordon Lightfoot website maintained by Wayne Francis http://www.lightfoot.ca/ Sundown (E) I can see her lying back in her satin dress In a (B7sus4) room where you do what you (E) don't confess Sundown you (A) better take care If I (D) find you been creeping 'round (E) my back stairs Sundown you (A) better take care If I (D) find you been creeping 'round (E) my back stairs She's been looking like a queen in a sailor's dream And she don't always say what she really means Sometimes I think it's a shame When I get feeling better when I'm feeling no pain Sometimes I think it's a shame When I get feeling better when I'm feeling no pain I can picture every move that a man could make Getting lost in her loving is your first mistake Sundown you better take care If I find you been creeping 'round my back stairs Sometimes I think it's a sin When I feel like I'm winning when I'm losing again I can see her looking fast in her faded jeans She's a hard loving woman, got me feeling mean Sometimes I think it's a shame When I get feeling better when I'm feeling no pain Sundown you better take care If I find you been creeping 'round my back stairs Sundown you better take care If I find you been creeping 'round my back stairs Sometimes I think it's a sin When I feel like I'm winning when I'm losing again Note to All Viewers: This Tribute Channel is for the sole purpose of sharing the experience of the magnificent music of Gordon Lightfoot. Sometimes I Wish - Gordon Lightfoot - V63 - 223 sec
Sometimes I Wish is the request of GeneralSirDouglasMacA. Unfortunately, there were just too many ID characters to fit it into the title! :) Link For online discussions about Gordon Lightfoot , his music and related topics http://www.corfid.com/ Link to Gordon Lightfoot website maintained by Wayne Francis http://www.lightfoot.ca/ Sometimes I Wish (Harmony) 3:37 Dreaming of the love I lost, the day the final bridge was crossed Sometimes I wish, that I could just forget. But the memory lingers yet, and it hangs around, Leavin' me low and leavin' me down. Everywhere I roam, there is nobody home. Even I should know, when it ain't my day there is no other way. -Instrumental- I begin to wake up to, how wrong it was to cling to you Sometimes I wish, to hold you to my heart, 'Cause I can't keep us apart. Forgiving you, Was the easiest thing that I ever could do. Everywhere I go, there is no one I know. Even I can see, it's too late now to believe in a vow. -Instrumental- As I wander I return, to days gone by there's much to be learned Sometimes I wish, that miracles could be. But at best I fail to see, any happenin', Some gotta lose and some gotta win. Everywhere I roam, there is nobody home. Even I should know, when it ain't my day there is no other way. Everywhere I go, there is no one I know. Even I can see, it's too late now to believe in a vow. You're leavin' right now. Apology - Gordon Lightfoot - V62 -CaptainSamKirk - 264 sec
Apology, requested by Captain Sam Kirk, is a fine and challenging request. Gordon's apology is not the first - there have been many. Each image selected for this production represents an Apology that was publicized - starting with "Apology" by Plato - about Socrates...how many can you recognize?
