In 1942 the New Symphony Orchestra of Tokyo was re-named to the Japan Symphony Orchestra. In 1951, the Japan Symphony Orchestra was sponcered by NHK(the Japan Broadcasting Company) and re-named to the NHK Symphony Orchestra.

In movie "FANTASIA", Toccata and Fugue is the first music which is played by Leopold Stokowski conducting and the Philadelphia Orchestra in 1940. Stokowski recoded in 1927 and 1934 with the Philadelphia Orchestra for Victor.
This music is arranged by many arrangers. But I think Stokowski's version is still 1best one.

浅草オペラのトップスターだった田谷力三の、84歳の歌声。浅草オペラのアリアから、「岩にもたれた」（オーベル「フラ・ディアボロ」より）、「恋はやさし野辺の花よ」（スッペ「ボッカチオ 」より）を歌っている。
田谷力三は、1899（明治32）年、東京は神田明神下に生まれたチャキチャキの江戸っ子。直参旗本の家系。1909（明治42）年、三越少年音楽隊に入り、音楽生活を始める。1917（大正6）年、三越少年音楽隊を退団し、ヴィットリオ・ジョバンニ・ローシーの経営する「ローヤル館」に入り、オペラを始める。デビューはオッフェンバック「ブン大将」のフリッツ役であった。1918（大正7）年、ローヤル館の閉館にともない、原信子歌劇団に移籍、浅草デビュー。同年7月、東京歌劇座（翌年七声歌劇団となる）、1919（大正8）年、伊庭孝の新星歌劇団（その後歌劇団の大合同により、根岸大歌劇団となる）と、浅草オペラのトップスタートして君臨した。1923（大正12）年の関東大震災をきっかけに、急激に浅草オペラが没落。一時期、森歌劇団などの活動はあったものの、1926（大正15）年には、その活動が停止する。昭和に入り、レビューやレコード活動を行っていたが、浅草オペラの再興を生涯の夢として、芸能活動を続けていたと言う。1970（昭和45）年紫綬褒章授章、1976（昭和51）年勲四等旭日小綬章授与。
