A new live action short! Kevin Sherman stars as the creepy father in this brief tale of a talking biscuit. Not based on any kind of true story, this film feels, nevertheless, like a lot of our dreams.
The film also stars Brandon Lee as the distressed kid, and features the inimitable biscuit puppetry of Darren Frydendall. Shot a long time ago, only finished now. For those who were not aware that real live action people type films get made at this channel once in a while, keep watching. The best is yet to come.

A little late in posting. I do wish they had got my name right - it's "Tim" Maloney. Oh well, who can complain? "Good Morning America" aired 30 seconds of "Cat Head Theatre," right after a clip featuring a woman singing to herself. I only figured on 15 seconds of fame, so this is double my expectations. See for yourself as perfectly well-dressed people try to figure out why they are laughing at cat heads. They talk through it completely, though, leaving any audience watching wondering why they should bother. Vive la tete du chat!

This animated piece was made for the Disney feature "Country Bears" (2002). It survived the cut.
I still haven't seen the movie. Apparently the CBs watch TV at some point, and they see this - a crappy cartoon about them from the 60's or 70's. Then they get really sad about how pathetic they are. Drowning their sorrows in booze, the Country Bears wake up two days later, bodies sore and mouths tasting like chalk. One of them succumbs immediatey to liver failure, and aspirates blood for an hour straight while the others look on in horror.
The other bears shuffle off into the sunset for the next two hours of the film, mumbling incoherently until they expire. Children watching this entire film have sued the Walt Disney company for causing them to be hopeless failures by virtue of having watched it.

Though this film was conceived and executed long in advance, a peculiar and sad coincidence emerged when a friend of the filmmaker's chose to leave us in exactly the same manner portrayed in the film. It is respectfully dedicated to her.

It is considered dangerous in over 47 countries, and should be used to irritate the overly conservative and religious intolerant. Exercise caution. This piece was commissioned by the experimental sound collage group Negativland for the video compilation, "Our Favorite Things," soon to be released. The track had been cut by Negativland several years before, an audio document of their problems with copyright/trademark issues concerning their "U2" album. Many years and a painful settlement later, they had successfully transformed their experience into even more art, and a little activism besides. This little piece, made on Disney equipment after hours when no one was looking, remains quite popular. San Francisco experimental filmmaker Craig Baldwin has been kind enough to include it in "culture jamming" programs he has organized throughout the US and Europe. Several times has it been used in conferences and on panels about copyright for the legal profession. And it's fun, to boot. The statute of limitations has apparently run out on this piece, and it is now considered perfectly legal. What a relief!
