| Shawn Brant Unedited - 507 sec Shawn Brant speaks at a local University on issues that natives face.
People need to be keenly aware of the diversionary tactics created by Corporate Alliances & Media spinning out Government Propaganda that keep our people divided.
Unless we all unite to stand together as allies and present a strong opposing force than we all are vulnerable and we all face annihilation .... Until no one is left not even our young....
Many of us have become assimilated and indoctrinated into a given way of thinking.
What happens to one happens to all!!!
Shawn could face up to 10 years in prison for protecting native rights.
We are all fighting the same issues poverty, homelessness, suicide, jobless, low wages and ill health.
Regardless of race, greed, color, gender and age we are all struggling with the same issues that are ripping our families apart and destroying our culture.
We all need to SHOUT WITH ONE VOICE! Auteur : aronevans Tags: native activism women children men all people university pcap ocap poverty law ontario canada governments mess peppershe |

| Drive away - 156 sec The Argyle Centre may be closing its doors before they were even officially open.
Lawrence and other residents have been told they have to move out of the Argyle Centre because its doors were closing.
Del Mastro has expressed his support for the centre in the past but the community failed to support the centre.
"I do know there's a couple of contracts they were hoping to get that didn't go through," Del Mastro said. "I think from the outset they encountered a number of challenges."
Eric Mann City Councillor expressed his support for the centre and expressed concerns at City Hall.
Lawrence said the closure of the centre will be difficult for him and doesn't understand why people are against the centre.
He currently relies on social assistance and spent yesterday morning searching for a place to live.
He only receives $550 a month and a one-bedroom apartment starts at $700 which is simply unaffordable to people who are currently unemployed due to the economic downsizing.
He will be forced to sleep in a snowbank and a blanket of snow fails to keep people warm.
"It's kind of depressing because I really like it here." said Lawrence.
Peggy has poured her heart and soul into the proposed training and rehabilitation centre for low income people struggling with a variety of issues.
It's a life dream for her and her staff who worked hard to make it happen only to be stopped in their tracks by city officials and the elite residential neighborhood who voiced their opposition from the onset.
The city should have stepped in and supported the centre, because a one-stop rehabilitation and training centre is needed in this community.
But obviously the community doesn't think so the NIMBY was very apparent by the amount of opposition voiced by area residents at the council meeting.
We need a one-stop shop. The facility is there and was sitting empty. The potential was there.
It's a waste of money to have all these various social agencies, all spread out and all paying overhead expenses and staff salaries.
Merely warehousing people with a revolving door mentality is neither cost efficient or effective when dealing with people experiencing hardships.
If the community could come to the Argyle Centre with an open mind and an awareness of the struggles people in poverty face maybe people would think differently.

| Taser - 75 sec People have died from the use of tasers and the effect it has on the body.
The electrical impulse created by the taser causes the body to go into extreme flight or fight and release chemicals and it is the direct result of these chemicals that can lead to death.
While the product may not be directly responsible for the death of individuals the manufacturers of such weapons and users of tasers are in fact responsible indirectly and the use of tasers should be banned.
If a toy leads to the death of a child it would be pulled off the market. Just as the blinds were pulled and warnings issued when children died of strangulation!
The medical profession should clearly come forward on these matters and tell the people the truth about the dangers of taser use.
To date the company still insists the use of tasers are safe.
The solution is to pull the product off the market. Auteur : aronevans Tags: tasers children strangulation warnings death Vancouver ocap |
