Everyone attending the workshop gets an opportunity to be animator, cameraman, video editor and production supervisor as well as assist others and create their own personal clips. This is a hands On workshop not a lecture and will give a taste to the participants of how animation works at a basic level. It is both FUN and educational.

| Darklight Morph-a-thon 2008 - 96 sec
This years "Morph-a-thon", Stop-motion animation workshop for kids was based on the Olympic theme. This hands-on workshop took place at the Irish film institute and got kids doing Stop-motion animation using an inert ball of plasticine that morphs into different shapes and expressions. This workshop was facilitated by Animatazz and assisted by Cal and Dean. We would like to thank everyone involved in making this event happen.

This traditional Belfast skipping song was made into a short animated movie by 9 kids from Armagh in Northern Ireland. The kids were aged between 9 and 11 and took part in an animation workshop at the AMMA Centre, which was facilitated by Michael of Animatazz. The idea was to create something that worked between "Riverdance" and the dance scene "I want to be in America", from the movie "West Side Story". The workshop lasted 4 days, we used exercises to introduced the concept of animation, its magic and other technical details. The kids designed and built their own characters using plasticine and other bits and pieces. We worked to develope the story by studying clips from both sources and made a storyboard to plan the production.

This traditional Nursery rhyme and was made into this short animated movie by kids from Poleglass area of Belfast. The kids were aged between 7 and 12 and took part in the Lisburn Libraries Project 2004 animation workshop which was facilitated by Michael of Animatazz and Mike Bass and were co-ordinated by Studio - On, in Belfast. Having introduced the concept of animation, its magic and other technical details through animation and movie making exercises, we, Michael and Mike thought it would be great if the kids could achieve a finished animated movie. Turning the rhyme into a rap was a wonderful accident. They designed and built their own characters using plasticine as well as other bits and pieces.This workshop was for 5 days and took place after school in their local library.
