This was shot in Brighton in 1998. I was commissioned to make it after the success of my film Vinyl, I managed to borrow a 35mm from Pete at Arri Media and Fuji very kindly gave me some rolls of film stock. The actors were all friends who lived locally.

Music video directed by Andy Hylton. Lots of fun, shot in Spain. The band were mortified when i told them to walk the gauntlet, through the busy restaurant lined streets, full of oily chavs on package holidays.. We could only manage one take before the band disappeared into a bar. Preston was begged for one more walk through which he did like a true professional. Before you knew it we were all in the van and whisked off into the sunset to the sounds of 'Who the f**k were they? I'll have the calimari!!'

A classic UK Garage tune. Music video directed by Andy Hylton.
This one was shot inside a 'dry dock' in Chatham. It was a very large wooden structure full of pigeon droppings. Not very pleasant crunching under foot, but Jason and Lain kept their smiles all day. By the end of the day Lain had a sore throat and i thought i had ruined his velvet vocal chords. As it happened the video helped launch him and this tune was massive. Respect to Lain and Jason for being such troopers.

Music video directed by Andy Hylton. This was shot in Miami. Mainly in an industrial area. I loved the light and the natural texture. Amp was a very cool guy, got his first break with George Clinton on Do Fries Go With That Shake, so i was completely into his 'Ghetto Fly' style. He picked up this vintage 70's suit locally shortly before the shoot. I remember that the man on the couch reading a newspaper was actually called Herbie and I chose him off the street because he looked like Herbie Hancock..was it the same man?
This remains one of my all time favourite videos because I think we captured a vibe and we had such a lovely crew. We all dug the Amp!!
