Andrew Gold (born August 2, 1951, in Burbank, California) is an American singer, musician and songwriter, best known in his homeland for his 1977 Top 10 single "Lonely Boy" and the 1978 single "Thank You for Being a Friend." His best known solo single in the UK was "Never Let Her Slip Away", which reached number 5 in 1978.
He has the singular distinction of being the first human voice to be 'heard' on the surface of Mars. His rendition of the theme from the television series Mad About You, entitled "Final Frontier," was used as the wake-up call for the Mars Pathfinder space probe in 1996.

Henry Gross produced a single, "Shannon", a song written about the passing of Beach Boy Carl Wilson's Samoyed (dog) of the same name.(Henry had an Irish Setter also named Shannon)(I used the Irish Setter as a the videos subject) The single went gold and became a worldwide hit, reaching #6 on the USA charts in 1976.
At age 18, Henry was a founding member of the world famous rock 'n' roll revival group Sha Na Na, playing guitar & wearing on-stage the "greaser" clothes he wore in high school. The group's popularity took a giant step after legendary performances at the Fillmore auditoriums in New York and San Francisco and the Woodstock Festival.

The Casey Kasem incident
"Shannon" is remembered for being the subject of a profanity-laced tirade by American Top 40 radio show host Casey Kasem while recording an episode of the show in 1985. A listener had requested "Shannon" as a "Long Distance Dedication" (a regular feature of the show) to his own recently-deceased dog. Kasem was upset that the show's producers had placed the dedication immediately following the Pointer Sisters' hit "Dare Me", an up-tempo song that Kasem considered a poor lead-in to a sad song like "Shannon".

A spirited MV,"Get What You Give" is a song by the New Radicals. It was an international smash hit, the first and most successful single off their album Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too. It reached No. 30 on Billboard Hot 100 Airplay in January 1999 and No. 36 on the overall Hot 100. It was a bigger hit in the UK, reaching No. 5. The song is an upbeat youth anthem in classic Gregg Alexander production style, based around a piano chord sequence and an electric guitar lick in the background over a steady drumbeat. Many were drawn to the song's optimistic attitude and feel-good atmosphere (the song itself is about remaining true to who you are and not being "a fake"), making it one of the mainstay singles of the late 1990s. It has been played over one million times on U.S. radio.
The music video for "You Get What You Give" was filmed in the Staten Island Mall, New York and directed by Evan Bernard. New Radicals' front man Gregg Alexander said he chose this setting because he sees the shopping mall as a metaphor for society - a fake, controlled environment engineered to encourage spending. The video showed a group of teenagers led by Alexander, going through the mall wreaking havoc -- tossing nets on security guards, placing businessmen in animal cages, knocking over merchandise, hijacking Lambrettas, and moshing in the foodcourt. According to some reports, the original idea was to completely destroy the mall, but before the video shoot the teenagers were "too tripped out on ecstasy"?
It was apparently filmed from 8 pm to 7 am on a Wednesday and Thursday in March 1998. Only one hour of this was spent on filming the band performing. The New Radicals had a constantly changing lineup, and the video reflects this - the only actual band members seen are Alexander and the drummer, Jon, while the rest are actors miming their instruments.

"The Only Living Boy in New York" is a song written by Paul Simon and performed by Simon and Garfunkel. It is the eighth track from the American pop duo's fifth and final studio album, Bridge Over Troubled Water.
Simon wrote this as a thinly-veiled message to Art Garfunkel, referring to a specific incident where Garfunkel went to Mexico to act in the film Catch-22. Simon was left alone in New York writing songs for Bridge over Troubled Water, hence the lonely feelings of "The Only Living Boy In New York." Simon refers to Garfunkel in the song as Tom, referring to their early days when they were called Tom and Jerry.

If Paul Simon ever hinted at a breakup with Art Garfunkel before, this song all but proves it with the line, "Tom get your plane right on time. I know that your eager to fly now." Before the Folk duo became famous, they were known as Tom and Jerry. Tom was Art's stage name, so this line symbolizes their increasing need for musical and personal freedom. Garfunkel (Tom) was trying to kick off an acting career and was missing a lot of recording dates with Simon in order to film movies such as Carnal Knowledge and Catch 22.

Avdat or Ovdat (Hebrew: עבדת), is the remains of a Nabatean road station, and is located on a mountain in the center of the Negev Desert on the road from Petra and Eilat.
Here, I will take you on a flight on Google earth 22,000 miles high, down to the original filming location.
The video resolution is low, but consider, this video was made from satellite imagery some 22k miles in the sky.
